Botany Bay {Edisto Island Family Photographer}

I am always SO excited to get a client who is willing to try new things and go to locations that, while aren’t always the most convenient or comfortable, are simply stunning.  I had the opportunity to photograph this fun and relaxed Concord, NC family at Botany Bay Plantation on Edisto Island, and it could not have turned out more perfectly!

When we scheduled the session (way back in the winter), I didn’t realize that A) the property is closed on Tuesdays for hunting (thankfully we scheduled our session for a Monday), B) the beach is completely inaccessible during anything but low tide (thankfully low tide happened to coincide with our scheduled time) and C) they grow massive fields of sunflowers mere steps away from the beach.  So many happy surprises!  When I photograph vacationing families, I always keep my fingers crossed for the very best weather, since there usually isn’t much time for rescheduling, and we were treated to the coolest beach breezes and a most spectacular sunset – I couldn’t have ordered it up much better myself.
