I have to say that this was one of the biggest highlights of my summer – photographing this winsome family in New York’s famed Central Park. And even though I adore the Lowcountry and its lush marshes and beach sunsets, I am fairly certain that I would never, EVER tire of photographing in Central Park (much less NYC!).
Melissa, an old friend from high school, contacted me about photographing her family and wondered if I ever travel for my work. And when I discovered that by TRAVEL, she meant New York, well I was immediately booking my plane tickets! I was over the moon to have the chance to explore a new location with such iconic scenery, and it was so amazing to see Melissa again (who, by the way, hasn’t changed a bit since high school) and meet her charming family. We spent a gorgeous, sunny afternoon exploring the park and making some pretty neat discoveries – who would have guessed that there was a little waterfall right in the middle of it?
I am always honored to be invited to spend time with families, capturing them together doing things that they love. Having the opportunity to catch up with Melissa and travel to the Big Apple was just the icing on the cake!
