It’s a rough job, but someone’s got to do it: help clients shop for outfits, scout gorgeous locations in America’s TOP destination city (as noted in Conde Nast Traveler Magazine), photograph outdoors year-round due to the mild South Carolina climate, hang out with crazy-fun people . . . . if I ever mention going back to my former life as a CPA, someone please knock me in the head!
Another day, another Boone Hall session. It happens to be one of my favorite places in all of Charleston to shoot, mainly due to its incredible versatility. We have the stunning Avenue of Oaks (planted nearly 300 years ago!), the wormy wood of the Cotton Dock, the tiny brick slave cabins, the grand plantation house, the vast open fields. My favorite spot, however (and you have to time it juuuust right), is the garden. The garden here in October was full of riotous color and big showy flowers, which perfectly complemented this family’s bright, jewel-toned color scheme (I wish I could say I planned it to a T, but alas, it was just luck).
This family is as bold and fun as their color choices. Chanda and Adam are good friends of ours – Adam is a true jokester, and a joy to have on a family shoot. He kept everyone in stitches (well, when the kids weren’t rolling their eyes at their crazy dad). And when you end the session with the kids hanging from the trees like monkeys, I think we can all agree it was a well-spent Sunday afternoon.
