It’s nearly time: the summer before senior year you head on down to the big box studio to have your yearbook picture taken. You put on the standard tux or black drape and incoming seniors are churned out every few minutes like a factory. Step-and-repeat. These photos are fine for a cohesive yearbook look, but do they really capture who YOU are, your unique qualities, your personality? Don’t settle for a boring yearbook photo that looks just like everyone else! Freeze this moment in time with a Senior Experience that is crafted especially to showcase the real, unique YOU.
The Senior Experience is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you shouldn’t ever forget. My goal is to create a portrait experience that is designed and styled around you. With me, you aren’t just another pretty face: you’re someone with a unique personality, your own kind of charm and your own kind of beautiful. Senior portrait sessions with me are fun, relaxed and different. They’re all about you, and making sure you have senior portraits that are as authentic as you are.
Each session includes an extensive planning, style and design consultation prior to the actual session. Before you ever step in front of my lens, we’ll spend some time together talking about locations, style and wardrobe ideas, what you like and what you don’t, and what you want and what you don’t. We spend time up-front creating a session that’s like your favorite pair of jeans – a perfect fit for YOU.
Together with my seniors, I create a mood board and shot list to guarantee that we are all on the same page with the session goals. Is it important to be photographed with the musical instrument you’ve been playing for a decade? What about that varsity team you’ve been on for four years? Are you moving away to college and want to ensure you have memories of special places in your hometown? Is your style funky, eclectic, sporty, casual, classic? I dive deep into these questions and more with my seniors so that I can get to know you and tailor the session to showcase the things about you that you want to remember.
Because we’ve gotten to know each other and have a plan, it’s much easier to feel comfortable in front of the lens. Trust that I will guide you into the poses that are the most flattering so that you don’t have to even think about it! I’m constantly assessing lighting, weather, wind, stray hairs, wrinkles, distracting elements and more . . . a portrait is not simply the click of a button. It is years of experience and expertise that allows the process to be EASY and FUN.
After the session, I don’t just throw your images into an online gallery and let you figure it all out on your own – it’s overwhelming, confusing and really just not that special. I will come to your home to present the very best of the images from our session together at a Session Premiere. At this time, you will have my undivided attention as we go over all of the images together and any specific retouching or cropping or any other questions you might have. You’ll be able to hold and touch samples of the luxe products that I offer: albums, framed art, portfolio boxes, wall art, acrylic blocks, and more. I will walk you through every single step of the process so that you don’t have to wonder what comes next. You decide which images you love best and how you want to view and enjoy them for years to come (hint: living on a USB in a drawer is not the best way to enjoy them!).
After we design your artwork together, I then retouch your images to polished perfection. It’s important to capture an amazing image right from the start – I pride myself on nailing a great shot in the camera of your natural beauty. By capturing the proper exposure, colors, pose, and composition from the beginning only minimal editing steps are utilized to make you look your very best. Your skin will have texture and pores (you won’t look like a plastic doll!), and you will look like the very best version of YOU.
