Susan’s Forty and Fabulous {Event & Lifestyle Photography | Sullivan’s Island, SC}

Susan is a dear friend of mine, and when it came time for her to celebrate her 40th in style, Charley and I offered up our backyard for the shindig.  With the help of Pinterest and the expertise of party-planner extraordinaire, Corrie Silvers of Teacups & Trucks, LLC, we were able to transform our boring backyard into a Lilly Pulitzer-inspired sea of pink and green.  Throwing a party for a professional event planner was most definitely a daunting task – she has exquisite taste and a discerning eye for detail.  When she arrived at the house and burst into (happy!) tears, I knew we’d done a good job.  In the end, it was a fabulous night, surrounded by friends near and from afar, a little bubbly, a lot of sweets, and quite honestly one of the most beautiful cakes I’ve ever seen.

I feel so blessed to have Susan as a friend, but also to be surrounded by such a creative team of women who came together to make this party happen!  Huge thanks to Corrie Silvers from Teacups & Trucks for the brilliant ideas and hard labor (who knew climbing a step stool 6,000 times to hang pompoms could be such a great workout?), Sarah Beth Irby from Carolina Cake Queen for the gorgeous and (most importantly) delightfully delicious cake, and Lisa Perrett from Robot Candy Co. for the phenomenal candy buffet in the most amazing shades of preppy.  Finally, I’d like to thank Mandy Cutler and Valerie Gordillo who – although they don’t have weblinks – are dear, sweet friends who deserve my undying appreciation and love for helping to put all this together – GO TEAM LILLY!!
