Downtown Charleston, SC Sweet Sixteen Session
Milestone birthdays are usually celebrated with a great deal of of pomp and circumstance: parties, friends, taking a fabulous trip, eating loads of junk food, and generally getting very spoiled. Unfortunately due to the pandemic this year, celebrations are looking a little different than they have in the past. No more big shindigs surrounded by all your friends, no travel to exotic destinations. We’re all having to pivot and make the best of what 2020 has handed to us.
Today my oldest daughter turns sixteen. We’d originally hoped to take in a few shows on Broadway, do some shopping, explore New York City, have a fabulous sweet sixteen session in Times Square, maybe take a college tour . . . instead we are sticking close to home and celebrating on a very small scale with just our family. However, I couldn’t let this huge milestone pass without doing SOMETHING amazing. I discovered Fiona, The Pink Figgy, on Instagram and knew that she just had to be part of Emma’s special day. To be clear (and much to her disappointment) – this is NOT Emma’s new car/Sweet Sixteen birthday gift. We just borrowed it for an hour 😉
The Pink Figgy is making the rounds in Charleston influencer/blogger circles and was recognized everywhere we went. Who doesn’t love a baby pink car? But even more special was the fact that every passerby wished Emma a very happy sixteenth birthday, and that was pretty special 💕 It was so much fun to make her birthday memorable with this Sweet Sixteen Session (featuring adorable Fiona 🚗), even if our big plans were cancelled.
