I truly hesitated to title this one “Children’s Portraiture” simply because this beautiful young lady isn’t really a child. She’s not a senior, either, so that didn’t sound right. Teen Portraits doesn’t really have a good ring to it . . . so my apologies to sweet Taylor, but Children’s Portraiture it is (and I think her parents might prefer it, anyway ;)).
This shoot was a great deal of fun for both of us – Taylor came armed with wardrobe, ideas, suggestions, and shooting locations all on her own. She had specific thoughts about exactly what she wanted for her shoot. One shot in particular she wanted to do was to perch in this tree sitting out in the water. This may have been an attempt better suited to summer weather because the Wando River in November is COLD! There were hidden oyster beds that further foiled her attempts to wade out, but what we got may be one of my favorites from the session.
Taylor is stunning and so poised in front of the camera – I had to constantly remind myself that she ISN’T a high school senior! She made my job an effortless joy, and I hope to be able to photograph her when it is time for her senior pictures. I can only imagine what a beautiful young woman she will become.
