I may have said this before, but it bears repeating – I LOVE at-home sessions!  For one thing, my subjects are far more relaxed in their comfortable environment.  No one is rushing around trying to get to a location, packing bags with snacks and hairbrushes . . . and an at-home session lends itself well to some spontaneous fun, like this family’s water gun wackiness.

This extended family invited me to their home to photograph the session in their backyard.  Being steps from the beach, it was lush and tropical, and I love how the foliage made the perfect backdrop for  the little girl’s vibrant Lilly Pulitzer shift.  The kids were great sports during the session but knew that they wanted to jump into the pool as soon as I gave them the word.  When I told them they were through, they immediately jumped into their bathing suits and . . . CANNONBALL!!!!  As is typical with siblings, they turned the water guns onto each other and then onto their grandparents who seemed fairly surprised at the range of these plastic toys – I just love the expression on the grandmother’s face as she gets a little shower from below 🙂
