The Larsen Family {Family Portraiture & Beach Lifestyle Photography | Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina}

As warm weather slowly but surely makes its way into the Lowcountry, I am itching to get back to the sandy dunes for a backdrop.  I’ve spent a lot of time inland these last few months using the perennially gorgeous and historical architecture of downtown Charleston as a shooting location, but I am so excited to start booking spring and summer beach lifestyle photography sessions again!

I happened to find this session from last year (one of my first beach sessions of 2012) that I hadn’t yet blogged and thought that it would be perfect to share.  Beach sessions with young families tend to be a casual, fun and laissez-faire experience, and this one was no exception!  Kids try so hard to sit still for the family shots at first . . . but after about ten minutes the siren song of the sea calls and they inevitable end up running away to the water.  I have yet to leave a beach session where the kids aren’t sticky with sand and salt water by the end 🙂
