Over the river and through the woods . . . this location was quite a hike from my normal East Cooper stomping grounds, but BOY was it worth the drive. Mepkin Abbey is a quiet, contemplative retreat for a community of Trappist monks that sits on the banks of the Cooper River. Clearly, I wasn’t the only one who thought it would be a great location for this family’s holiday session – when we left there had to be at least four or five other photographers there 🙂 ‘Twas the season, I guess.
I never tire of photographing this extremely photogenic family. Susan and I are of very similar minds (which is why I think we’re such good friends) when it comes to the details, so everyone was perfectly polished and on their best behavior. Julia even got into the action and decided to take her own portraits of Mom & Dad!
