Year of Mornings Project Week 30: Florida Vacation

My Summer Florida Vacation

Growing up in Florida, life did not seem much like a vacation.  Eternal summers made me wish for cooler (but not too cold) temperatures, and as soon as I could I flew the coop for a more moderate climate.  Thankfully my family is still there, and so we make the trip to the tropics several times a year to visit.

We have had an incredibly busy summer, and I was more than ready for our Florida vacation.  Having my mom and dad and brother to help out with entertaining the kids alone was a luxury for me!  And even though we packed in a lot of adventure in a short week’s stay, I was able to come back home refreshed and feeling like I really HAD been on vacation.  Swimming in the pool, snorkeling in the sea, soaking up the sun, and selling lemonade . . . that’s what summer is all about!

P.S. I just noticed that I took nearly the exact same image of the plumeria flowers on my LAST trip to Florida HERE.  They’re just so pretty . . .
