I just spent the very most relaxing time of my summer on a Saluda mountain weekend with some old, dear friends. After the crazy-busy summer we have had, it was simply lovely to have a cabin overlooking a mountain, not another house in sight, put up my feet with a cold one and relaaaax. Typically I have a hard time relaxing when there is a lot to see and do, but the beauty of Saluda is that, well, there really ISN’T much to do. We ate to excess, we played rounds of Trivial Pursuit, we slept in, we reminisced about college and how life has changed since then . . . it was like one big grownup slumber party!
On a side note, my eight year-old came to me one morning and said “I put the milk next to the Cheerios and it looks really cool – can I take a picture of it?” How it melted my heart to hear those words from the child who runs every time I lift my lens! In any case, full photo credit for the healthy breakfast advertisement goes to Emma Hamrick. Proud mama moment!
