Year of Mornings Project Week 45: Coastal Carolina Fair

Well, shamefully I picked up my camera to photograph my own life only ONE day last week (I’ll say it’s because the rest of the fam was recovering from photography overload – we had OUR holiday family session and it was a blast).  We went to the Coastal Carolina Fair on Monday evening, and I always LOVE going to the fair!  Not only it is the BEST place to people-watch AND the food is second-to-none (people who claim not to like funnel cakes or barbecue or cotton candy just don’t know how to live – wink!), but it provides the most bright and colorful backdrop for photographs.

Last year at the Coastal Carolina Fair I lugged along the big ole’ camera in order to take advantage of the low-light capabilities and speedy shutter.  I got some great shots, but I wanted to be more present in our family time together this year, so I left the heavy-duty lenses at home.  Armed with only my iPhone and point-and-shoot, and coupled with the fact that both of my children now met the height requirement to ride without an adult (yahooo!), the hubs and I had a brilliant time just observing their unbridled joy at the fair.
