First of all, if you are here for another year of following my daily project, then WELCOME BACK to my fresh start in 2014! Thanks to your encouragement, as well as the enormous amount of satisfaction that I got from reflecting back on my year in pictures, I have decided to continue my daily project. I felt that my Year of Mornings Project was a success primarily in that I finished it, not that I necessarily abided by all the “rules” (I didn’t always take my daily pic before noon each day, and once I discovered Instagram it quickly became more of an IG project than a real honing of my photography skills).
My goal this year is to work on fun new things I’d like to try and skills that I would like to sharpen with my REAL camera, such as studio lighting, off-camera flash, silhouettes, self-portraits, shooting in the middle of the day, night photography, etc. I also wanted to ensure that I focus on my family, and to continue to capture the real moments of OUR lives together: the good, the bad and the ugly. I know that I have friends along on my journey to help keep me accountable, and I know that at the end of 2014 I will be so glad to have committed to this once again.
I am so excited for this fresh start in 2014! If you have ever considered a photo-a-day project, I highly encourage you to try one. It is never too late to get started, and I promise that you will not regret it. In fact, please check out my friend Julie Rivera’s blog post on just HOW to successfully complete a photo-a-day project. She is an amazing source of inspiration to me, and it’s uncanny how often our lives with two little girls seem to parallel one another.
Motivated to start a 365 Project of your own? I’d love to follow you, so please comment below where I can find you (Instagram? Facebook? Blog?). If you care to check out my daily ramblings, follow me on Facebook, as I am hoping to post daily pics there, as well as a weekly summary here on the blog. Looking forward to another GREAT year!
