{Sullivan’s Island, SC Family Photographer}
There’s something about shooting a family in their own home (with a CAMERA, of course!) that just lends itself well to spontaneity and silliness – this particular session was definitely all about some backyard family fun. Everyone is more comfortable in their own environment, and that honestly makes my job as a photographer so much easier. When big brother was done with his portraits, instead of waiting around all bored he just chilled out on the couch with his iPad. While the kids were rolling around on the grass like puppies, mom and dad enjoyed the view from the deck with a glass of wine. When the girls picked (literally ALL) the blooms off the lantana in order to blow them into the camera, no one batted an eyelash about it (I typically don’t encourage taking things from other people’s gardens). There was dip in the pool to cap off the session, followed by parting gifts to me of lovingly-made Rainbow Loom bracelets. By the end of our time together I felt like I was a part of this fun family myself!
